People think that makeup products do not expire and they could use it forever. But this isn’t true. Makeup products expire after a certain amount of time and must be replaced by new makeup products.
Applying expired makeup on your face has some disadvantages:

Life of mascara is maximum 1 year. Mascara is in liquid form so the probability of contamination of mascara with bacteria and other germs increases. What you have to do is don’t dip your mascara wand again and again in the bottle. It increases the amount of air going inside the product which can spoil your mascara.

Life of kajal is 1 year. If we apply expired kajal on our waterline, it can cause irritation and eye infection. If we use retractable kajal pencil, the chance of bacteria growth increases. Therefore the use of sharpener pencil is advisable because each and every time we sharpen the pencil, the pencil gets cleaned.

The life of eyeliner is 1 year. Sometimes, we observe some lumps and uneven consistency of our eyeliner. These are the signs that your eyeliner is expired and it is a time to buy a new one.

The life of an eye shadow is 1.5 years. Although, eye shadows are dry, you need to use them within 1.5 years of its expiry date.
